The Maple Leaf Community Council is looking for a Co-Treasurer to join our leadership team! This role is designed to share the Treasurer’s responsibilities, making the work lighter and ensuring there’s always coverage when needed.
The Co-Treasurer plays a key part in keeping our neighborhood council financially healthy, transparent, and sustainable for the long term. You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive group of volunteers who care about keeping Maple Leaf a vibrant, welcoming place to live. No one is expected to have all the answers from day one — we’ll make sure you have the guidance and tools to feel confident in the role.
Here’s what you’ll be involved in:
- Keeping the books: Recording income and expenses so our records are accurate and up to date
- Watching the budget: Helping ensure the Council is living within its means and making smart choices
- Managing the bank account: Assisting with deposits, payments, and making sure everything balances out
- Filing important documents: Preparing and submitting our 501(c)(3) forms and state compliance paperwork
You don’t need to be a CPA or finance professional — just someone who’s comfortable with numbers, organized, and willing to pitch in. If you’ve ever balanced a checkbook, managed a household budget, or tracked expenses for a project, you already have a great foundation.
This is a wonderful way to give back to the neighborhood, meet new people, and ensure our community council continues to thrive for years to come. By stepping into this role, you’ll be helping create continuity, lighten the load for others, and keep the Council’s work strong and reliable.
If you enjoy teamwork, like knowing the details add up, and want to make a meaningful contribution close to home, we’d love to have you join us as Co-Treasurer!
