What you'd be doing

• Reserving space at Watershed and confirming the date each month
• Greeting neighbors as they arrive and helping newcomers feel welcome
• Keeping the room quiet and comfortable during the reading hour
• Prompting a bit of casual mingling and conversation once reading time wraps up

Who this is for

Silent Book Club is one of Maple Leaf's simplest traditions: neighbors read together in comfortable silence, then talk books and life afterward. This role is for someone who loves that low-key vibe and wants to help it keep happening smoothly every third Sunday.

You don't need to run a formal program. Mostly it's about showing up early, making sure the space feels ready, and being a friendly face for neighbors who might be coming for the first time.

What it takes

• Comfort coordinating a simple monthly booking with Watershed
• A warm, welcoming presence for neighbors arriving solo
• About two hours a month, mostly the day of each gathering
