Kick off the new year with your neighborhood

The start of a new year is when a lot of people think about getting more involved, giving back, or finding a way to connect that actually fits into their life. This open house is a chance to see what that could look like right here in Maple Leaf and to meet the neighbors who help make things happen.

You’ll hear short, informal introductions from MLCC committee leads and volunteers, including Communications, Outreach, and Events, as well as members of the board. They’ll share what they’re planning for 2026 and what kind of help they’re looking for, from big-picture planning to small, tangible ways to pitch in. This includes helping run neighborhood favorites like Movie Nights, Silent Book Club, Love Your Neighbor Happy Hours, the Summer Social, the Halloween Parade, community meetings, and The Leaflet and delivery routes.

After the group overview, we’ll break into smaller conversations by committee so you can spend time with whatever sparks your interest. There’s no pressure to commit, this is about learning, asking questions, and seeing how involvement actually works. Whether you’re looking to jump in, help occasionally, or just get a better sense of what happens behind the scenes, you’re very welcome to join us.
