Business Committee Chair

What you'd be doing

• Reaching out to local businesses to introduce them to the council and hear what they need
• Promoting business opportunities and events to neighbors, and neighbors to businesses
• Building awareness of ways neighbors can support local shops and restaurants
• Chairing Business Committee meetings and coordinating volunteers on the team

Who this is for

If you love popping into local shops, know half the business owners on the avenue by name, or just want an excuse to get to know them, this role is for you. It's a relationship-building job more than a paperwork one.

What it takes

• Comfort introducing yourself to business owners and following up over time
• Basic organizing skills to run a small committee
• About three hours a month, with more around events like the Halloween Parade
